Visited this ground as an away fan and unfortunately the problems started in the car/coach park. The surface was extremely difficult to wheel across as it was a soggy mixture of sand and gravel. It certainly couldn’t have been classed as level and there were also lots of loose scalpings.

A very friendly steward opened the gate to let us in and we were given the usual deal of paying for the disabled person, with free entry for the carer.

Unfortunately we found that there were no disabled toilets and there is no way I could have got into the ladies’ (up a step). In the away end there was no seating – only standing on terraces. Usually there are disabled bays marked out in front of the terraces but there were none of these so we had to position ourselves in the blocked off ‘no standing’ area between the terrace and the pitch. It was a very poor view, especially with the level of the barrier fencing around the pitch.

Just before half time, it started to throw it down. In the away end the only bit of shelter was right at the back of the terrace (up several steps) and other fans were able to get a little shelter from the rain. Despite being in full waterproofs we got soaking wet and very cold due to there being no shelter.

Not a great experience really (although we were told after the game that a safety steward could have escorted us to the home clubhouse where there was a disabled toilet).
