This store is a multiple of buildings, joined together. It’s a very large store. However they have only 2 lifts big enough for 1 wheelchair/pushchair at a time.
I went with my niece (both of us in wheelchairs) to go eat in the restaurant there. The restaurant is on the 3rd floor. The lift door closed on me, trapping my arm between door and side of the wheelchair. When we got there, the wheelchair lift to take you down to the restaurant floor was out of action. So we had no choice but to take the lift back down 1 at a time. I went to go in and the door closed on me again. So stressed was I, that I got out when the doors opened at the wrong floor. So I had to go again. Guess what? The door closed on me, again.
I made a complaint, even though I’m not a complainer, generally. The manager phoned me, and said that they’ll look into the timings of the lift doors. The wheelchair lift is out of order as it required some new parts, and they are no longer available. So the whole thing has to be replaced. Also, she was going to arrange to have some tables put at the top of the stairs for anyone that is unable to get down to the restaurant floor.
She offered me some afternoon tea vouchers, for me, my niece, and sister to come back to the store to see that they are trying to put things as right as they can for the time being, however, they never came.
It’s been over 5 weeks now since my last trip, and I’ve heard nothing from them.
Shocking customer service.

For such a huge building, this shop has only 2 small lifts which take 1 wheelchair or pushchair only each. Today 1 was out of service. The lift door closed on me each time I tried to enter. As the building is made up of several buildings, on different levels, made into 1 big shop, each floor has ramps and there are one or two small wheelchair lifts throughout. The wheelchair lift into the restaurant was out of service today, so we were unable to go for something to eat there.
Accessibility there today was rubbish. And I ended up with a bruise on my arm from the lift door shutting on me.
