The Friends of Dolphin

Registered Charity, The Friends of Dolphin, was a created by the Rotary Club of Parkstone in 1979 as a special project to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Rotary International.

August 1982 saw Parkstone Rotary Club hand the project over to the Trustees of the newly formed Friends of Dolphin Charity. Since that time it has remained a self-supporting charity because of the band of dedicated volunteers and supporters.

The Friends of Dolphin, have had three boats adapted for disabled people. Dolphin III is now giving boat trips free of charge of all ages and disabilities, including wheelchair users, around Poole Harbour. Dolphin III was acquired in 2008 and built on the Isle of Wight by Cheetah Marine. The designers came up with a totally new design, which enables wheelchair users to embark passengers direct from a pontoon in the Poole Harbour Marina.

To book a trip on Dolphin III, contact Booking Secretary Bob Irwin 01258 857806 or email bookings@thefriendsofdolphin.co.uk

PLEASE NOTE: Bob starts taking bookings for the season start from the beginning of March of that year.

He will be pleased to discuss eligibility requirements, possible dates for trips and any special arrangements that might be required. Details and confirmation of trips will be sent by either Letter, Fax or E Mail.
