Visited theCheese Fest at Gosforth Racecourse.
Unfortunately not a good start as the roadworks, a diagonal ramp that had our WAV on three wheels. Speed bumps meant crawling across in first gear.
Event staff were helpful as we could park directly outside outside the venue. The accessible parking was originally on grass and I refused to deploy the WAV ramp on grass and also refused to drop J off and return to him.
Ramp to access venue, but manual doors. Event staff helpful and opened doors.
Inside was step free but with unprotected cables and lumpy carpets. Stedo but wide ramp lead to outside with various Gazebos touting Cheesey loveyness. Access was on grass, fine as the weather has been so dry but if it had been rainy, totally unaccessible.
We ate outside as inside was rammed. There is a concrete area with park style seats….. with a myriad of wasps waiting for your meal. This made for a nervous picnic as I’ve been advised to avoid stinging monsters due to my reaction to stings.
We bought lots of dairy goodies and returned home …. with an uninvited guest. A wasp had hijacked a lift on J’s wheelchair !
Not sure whether we’ll return without a Epipen and a can of Raid
