I popped in here this morning and happy to say that the lift is up and running again.
Accessible toilet is directly in front of the entrance but it could so easily be missed.

Was quite disappointed that the lift in this museum still has a notice on it saying that it is being serviced. So it was the stairs only so not accessible for anyone with mobility issues. The video room at the top of the building is up a very narrow twisted staircase only anyway.

This is another of Edinburgh’s museums that is free to visit. Parking is a problem but access is on the level. There is a lift available however it was being serviced today. There are slopes down to the lift and it did look a bit of a tight squeeze. So access to the other levels was by stairs only. Tells the story of the ordinary person and covers work, home life, leisure, transport to name but a few. Found it very interesting and would visit again. Only found ladies and gents toilets.
