A small theatre in a very unusual location. The theatre is the original theatre in the Shelley Manor – family home of Mary Shelley and co. This means it is a very old, a probably listed building. This obviously causes constraints to accessibility, so I have always been hesitant going here. However, we were offered some tickets at short notice so took the plunge.

I called up to see if we could move the tickets for an accessible place and they were very helpful as there was one place left. There’s at least two wheelchair spaces and they have an excellent view in my opinion for what is a very small theatre. We were in row B, so whilst I was behind row A, the seats were quite low, so I actually felt like I was pretty tall. There are a few lips to get over door frames so be aware, and the entrance to the hall has a slope which could be a problem if not aware, so be careful. You actually enter by Row A so it is really easy once in. I was fine getting around, but staff were offering help. There was a bar, but didn’t have time for a drink, nor did I check out facilities. There are several disabled bays in car park, however we were too late so parked round the corner. It seems car park fills up quite early and is quite limited for the venue size.
