We visited Harrogate Convention Centre to attend the Thought Bubble comic convention. I emailed the centre the week before to check height restrictions for the centre underground car park, and received a prompt reply stating it was 2.1m and there were several blue badge spaces. However, on the day we did not need to use it as we were able to park in one of the blue badge spaces outside entrance 1 (next to the Crowne Plaza entrance). There was sloped access down to the street and level pavement on the walk to entrance 3. There were 2 lifts that were in good working order that allowed access down to the lower level conference rooms. There were several accessible toilets dotted around, however only gripe with these was that there wasn’t a lot of space inside, and the door opened inwards. We were able to get the powered wheelchair in, but with a bit of manoeuvring! I think the doors between halls throughout the venue were manual, but for the convention these were all open so access was easy. Overall, we were impressed with the venue and had an enjoyable, stress-free day.
