The accessible entrance is around the back of the restaurant as the main entrance at the front is up a flight of steps. To get to this entrance you have to go down Redcotts Lane and through the NatWest car park. There is parking for two or three cars outside this entrance but they are usually taken and none are disabled spaces, they should add one in my opinion seeing as it’s outside the disabled entrance. I usually park in the long stay car park off Westfield Close which has two disabled spaces, you have to pay if you don’t have an East Dorset and Christchurch disabled parking permit.
There are small double doors and a 3-4inch step to get in, they do have a portable ramp but someone has to go inside to ask them. When I went one of the staff saw me struggling to get in, just about got up the step with a run up but she never asked if I needed the ramp. Once inside it’s all on one level and easy to get around. There is a disabled toilet near the bar. When I came to leave again they didn’t ask me if I needed a ramp which isn’t good practice in my book. I just reversed out the door and bumped down the step. A permanent concrete ramp would be better and could easily be installed.
