I should add that the fact that the front entrance has been ramped makes this such a welcoming place for wheelchair users from the start

I first visited this gallery back in the nineties when accessibility was poor in most places.
I was amazed to find this gallery was fully accessible including a lift to the first floor.
I visited again this year .
The lift is very small.
I managed by lifting up my foot plate on my power chair.
So it is important to check in advance.
The ground floor has the current exhibition, the shop and a cafe.
There was one artist in residence in a room next to the cafe and another in a studio in the garden accessed via a separate entrance .
The garden is level and very pleasant with an array of sculptures.
Wheelchair users can park near the front door which has a fixed ramp
They are working on sorting out the lift problem but there is still plenty of interest on the ground floor and in the garden.
