Freedom Tower...built after destruction of Twin towers on 9/11/2001. Museum is emotionally intense and displays the horrible carnage to life and property and also the unrelenting sacrifices of nyc first responders. I worked on 69th floor of 1 WTC prior to the attack. The Freedom Tower is the attempt to mend the scars of that terrible day.

New York City has gone to great lengths to provide wheelchair taxis…they have ramps in the rear…they are everywhere and can be dispatched to your location.

If you use a wheelchair, you can request an accessible taxi for pick-up anywhere in the five boroughs.

311 will transfer you to a dispatcher to arrange your pick-up location and time. You can also request an accessible taxi by:

• Calling the dispatcher directly at (646) 599-9999, OR
• By using the NYC Accessible Dispatch mobile app for iPhone or Android.

You are expected to get to the agreed upon pick-up location without assistance from the taxi driver. Normal taxi fares apply.

You won’t be charged any fees for wait time. The meter will start when you are securely in the vehicle.
