Winton Recreation Ground is a large community based play area with lots of green space suitable for making a day out for picnics and utilising the wide variety of equipment on offer for the entire family.

Travel: There is parking on site with two accessible parking spaces. If needed, there is additional on street parking situated on Maxwell Road. For those travelling by public transport, the no. 20 bus stop on Heron Court Road is located at the park’s entrance.

Refreshments: There is a Cafe on-site within the Bowling Club, offering a range of hot and cold food and beverages this cafe is open during April-September. If you are visiting outside this time scale, no less than a 5 minute walk will take you to Charminster Road where you will find a wide range of cafes, restaurants, and convenience stores.

Toilets: There are non-accessible toilets open all year on site. There are accessible toilets within the Bowling Club, during the months this is open (April-September) toilet facilities are free for members of the public to use. If you are visitng outside this time scale, the cafes, restaurants, and convenience stores spread out all along Charminster Road (less than a minute walk) will have facilities to offer for customers.

The Play Area: Winton Recreation Ground is a perfect place to visit with family and friends, offering a range of play equipment to enjoy as well as bowling and tennis courts available during the summer months, you could even enjoy a lovely day out making the most of the wide meadow space surrounding the play area to play foodball, or set up a picnic in the sun. With carved benches adding to the element of fun placed every 10 meters within the recreation ground, when a break is needed it isn’t far to reach. There is something for everyone of all ages here with all the traditional play activities, as well as a multiplay unit, round-a-bout, basket swing and climbing frame and trim trail maintaining challenging elements of play.
