My latest visit to the Tank Museum was really enjoyable, because I got to see my Tank which shares my surname. Information points about the tank are easily accessible for wheelchair users to get under. New ‘World of Tank’ exhibition (although not open) is also accessible for young wheelchair users (gamers). Unfortunately tank rides are only accessible via steep steps. There is no Changing places toilets. I would recommend a visit because there is reasonable access.

Worth adding a 2nd review as we went back when my son wanted to go for Tankfest. I didn’t realise how big this event was, but was still excellent for accessibility. The whole grounds (including car park) are turned over to the event, so parking is in surrounding fields. Having said that disabled parking is situated right next to entrance. The main arena has reserved viewing for disabled and PA’s (see pics). The really good thing is that family members can sit right behind the disabled/PA area so you don’t get split up. Football stadiums take note! The event is very busy, however seems well stewarded and they were particularly attentive around disabled viewing area.

Excellent day out, and found the whole place accessible. The main building is quite new and is really easy to get around, with gentle slopes, flat surfaces and lifts as well. I had no trouble. Staff were extremely helpful. It’s also a good place to visit and puts the history of tanks and warfare in context – it isn’t just rows of tanks! There’s also an outside demonstration area where they drive tanks during summer season. This has a raised slope down from the cafe, so is really well designed. Toilets and parking good.

Great place to visit and accessible throughout. Some loud noise in summer season at 1.30pm during tank displays. Great gift shop
