Discovered today that there is an underpass (pretty creepy) to use when the lift is out of order. It is accessible by anyone not just station staff.

Changed trains here on the way to Nottingham. Assistance arrived quickly although they didn’t seem to have knowledge of my booking! Never mind, the staff were really helpful and got me on the next stop to my destination.
