Quick update to say that the issue raised in the photograph has been addressed! Next time I’ll get a new photo, unless anyone can Update here?

I’ve added some photos showing the poor accessibility that is available when its not possible to get through the ticket office. Its not easy negating the step in a powered chair and removes independence for many wheelchair users.

Surely it wouldn’t cost much to rectify?

First time I’ve used Dorchester South Railway station in a while.

I popped in a couple of hours earlier to get my ticket to Weymouth. The staff were really helpful, arranging for the train to come in on the ‘up side’ so I didn’t have to make the journey all the way round just to get to the other side.

Very helpful assistance getting on.

When I returned to Dorchester at 11.30pm the office was closed. The signs indicated a ‘step free’ exit, although when I took that route there was quite a step, and I had to ask some random passengers for some help.

For a County Town its pretty poor that disabled people and others with mobility challenges cannot access both platforms via either a sloping footbridge or a lift. Perhaps some thought should also be given to the ‘step free’ issue.
