I have had to come through Gatwick 3 times late at night and get off there in order to get a taxi to my home station.

Doesnt matter how specific I book the assistance… It doesnt show up. So I have no choice but to have someone with me. It is expensive paying a PA to come to something purely because otherwise I would end up in Brighton or Bognor Regis or, basically anywhere that isnt close to where I want to be.

So, my PA has to get off find the station staff while i hold the door so it cant close. Then all three times they have muttered about booking the assistance – which I had. One out of the 3 times they refused to carry out the rest of the booking which is to take me to where the taxi that the rail company has ordered as there is no staff at my home station to help me off the train. That time I was told to go to the information desk, which is closed at 00:15. So my PA has to find someone as the airport is confusing and the taxi doesnt pick up from the actual taxi rank, it is a different place.
A manager said over the radio, which I was next to, that I hadnt booked assistance – which I had, then he found it… a bit late considering I was already off the train. Only then did he allow someone to take me to the pick up point.

Half the problem is the booking people. I have had to lodge a formal complaint.

Make sure you take someone with you if you need help off the train at Gatwick Airport rail station!
